UM Men host day of prayer, publish book of prayers
Six bishops slated to offer meditations
NASHVILLE, Tenn.––United Methodist Men have published a book of prayers for peace with justice and they will host their third day of Prayer, Saturday, July 25.
Sponsored by the Southeastern Jurisdiction of UM Men, the three hour event will be hosted by Andrew Kissell, president of the jurisdictional organization, and Hank Dozier, immediate past president.
People scheduled to offer meditations and prayers during the 1-4 p.m. (EDT) virtual event include Bishops James Swanson, Paul Leeland, Ken Carter, Leonard Fairley, Gary Mueller, Sharma Lewis. Other scheduled speakers include: Gil Hanke, top staff executive of the General Commission on UM Men; Wallace Neal, national prayer advocate; the Rev. Dr. Cedrick Bridgeforth, pastor of Grace UMC in Los Angeles; Jarvis Wilson, minister of music for West Hunter Street Baptist Church in Atlanta; and Odell Horne, president of North Georgia Conference UM Men.
