Scout and youth leaders invited to Florida training experience in Florida
ISLAMORADA, Fla.––Scouting coordinators, scouting ministry specialist, pastors, youth ministers, and scoutmasters are invited to attend a Feb. 15-18 training experience at the BSA Florida Sea Base on the Florida Keys.
In addition to warm weather in the middle of winter, participants will receive information about ways to transform a local scouting program into a ministry. Other topics include Bishop’s Dinners, adult and youth recognition awards, scouting ministry specialist, Venturing, Adult, P.R.A.Y. Awards (formerly the God and Country Series), and more

Sessions begin Friday, Feb. 15, at 5 p.m. and conclude on Monday, Presidents’ Day, Feb. 18 at 11 a.m.
A maximum of 20 participants will be accepted; first come first served.
Course directors: Larry W. Coppock, CFRE, national director, scouting ministries, General Commission on United Methodist Men; Phil Howard, vice-chair, Scouting Ministry Committee; and the Rev. Greg Godwin, vice-chair, Scouting Ministry Committee.
Cost: $350.00 - covers lodging (three nights, Friday-Sunday, eight meals, snacks, materials and training. Spouse meals and lodging fee is $150.00 extra. Transportation to and from Sea Base is the responsibility of each participant. Nearest airports are Miami and Ft. Lauderdale.
