NORTH CANTON, Ohio--Four UM congregations presented 137 copies of Strength for Service to God and Community to members of the North Canton Police and Fire Departments. Books were also given to first responders in Plain Township.

Groups contributing to the devotionals were Faith UMC, Stephen Ministry; Grace UM NETS Ministry; Simpson UMC; and Werner Church Road UMC. CMG Business Concepts in Middlebranch also contributed funds for the books.

“I would like to see this book gets into the hands of every first responder in East Ohio,” said Leland Spencer, president of East Ohio UM Men. He noted a church in Youngstown gave copies of the book to public servants in that area.
