NASHVILLE, Tenn.--Larry Malone, a staff executive with the General Commission of UM Men, led a December chapel service for the 40-member St. Louis Rams team one day before the NFL team played the Tennessee Titans. Borrowing an analogy from St. Paul, Malone encouraged the players to “put on the whole armor of God” (Ephesians 6:10-17).
“The team stood and together we ‘put on’ each piece of the armor,” said Malone. “The score the next day was not pretty, but that’s not the point of spiritual armor.” The Titans dismantled the Rams 47-7.
Malone did not disclose the fact that he is a Titan fan.
