Bishop Swanson surgery is successful

UMM is working to implement a new model and vision of men’s ministry. We believe that the result will be men involved in all four areas of focus which will reach the world for Christ. United Methodist Men are responding to the four areas of focus in the following ways:

Improving Global Health...

Directing UM scout troops in advocacy and fundraising for Imagine No Malaria.
Caring for hearing impaired Haitian children through Hope of Hearing.
Anti-tobacco advocacy through Faith United Against Tobacco.
Domestic Violence advocacy and prevention through Men Ending Violence (MEND) and United Methodist Women.

Bishop James Swanson, president of the General Commission on UM Men, is recovering from Nov. 12 prostrate surgery in Atlanta.

"All went well with the surgery," says Dr. Connie Shelton, director of communications. "The doctor was confident that no other treatment will be needed."

The bishop expressed appreciation for prayers, cards, prayer shawls, love, care and concern.
