UMM is working to implement a new model and vision of men’s ministry. We believe that the result will be men involved in all four areas of focus which will reach the world for Christ. United Methodist Men are responding to the four areas of focus in the following ways:

New places for new people and renewal of existing congregations…

  • Awakening and building new spiritually as a means to revive congregations.
  • Training clergy and lay leaders in effective discipleship of men.
  • Encouraging and equipping men to serve their pastors and congregations as ministry partners.
  • Assisting UMC leaders beyond the USA with relevant training and resources.

The Center for Scouting Ministries has created resources for Scout Sunday, aiming to enhance the community's experience. Steven Scheid, the director of the Center for Scouting Ministries, defines Scout Sunday as "the church’s premier opportunity to engage with the community. We open our doors to share time with the Scouts and their leaders." While many scouts are already part of the congregation, Scout Sunday encourages them to wear their uniforms in support of the Scouting Ministry.

To commemorate this unique investment in youth, the United Methodist Men have introduced the 2024 Scout Sunday Patch. You can order the patch at /store/category/scout-sunday. Additionally, the website provides access to 2024 Liturgy resources and a Sunday Morning Bulletin Resource.
